Kern Oil & Refining Co. donated more than 30 backpacks and other miscellaneous school supplies to the Boys & Girls Club of Kern County’s Clubhouse in Lamont. The Lamont Clubhouse, which serves the small community of 15,000, supports at-risk and underprivileged youth. Following the donation, Kern employees had the chance to tour the Clubhouse and to meet with some of the benefiting members.
“School supplies can be hard to afford for low-income families, a challenge made even worse by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Marivic Louey, Controller. “Kern Oil & Refining Co. is committed to the well-being and success of our community. I am proud to represent our team in carrying out the donation and tour of the Lamont Clubhouse.”
The Boys & Girls Club of Kern County supports more than 7,200 children each day through youth development programs, after school care and marquee events.
