Kern Energy actively embraces the production of renewable fuels to improve air quality by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Renewable fuels burn cleaner and have a much lower environmental impact. We refine up to 27,000 barrels per day of crude oil and produce a range of what we call “California Clean” renewable products: 

  • Blending ethanol in all finished gasoline since 2003

  • Co-processing biomass to produce renewable diesel since 2009

  • Biodiesel blending in finished diesel since 2012

  • Producing B20 biodiesel blend since 2017
